Army planes bombed a Syrian town in the north of the country

BEIRUT (Reuters) - The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Sunday that at least 21 people were killed and about a hundred injured Saturday night after planes bombed a Syrian army town in the north of the country controlled by the organization of the Islamic state. The attack came hours of the meeting and the broker of the United Nations with senior Syrian officials in Damascus before to discuss ways to resolve the conflict, which entered its fourth year and has killed more than 191 000 people. The British-based Observatory said a Syrian army helicopters dropped explosive barrels as warplanes carried out raids on areas in the town of the door, which lies northeast of the city of Aleppo. The observatory, which combines information from multiple sources in Syria said that children were among the dead, and predicted that the death toll to rise because some of the injured were in serious condition. The warplanes bombed the US-led Islamic state targets in Syria in a campaign Washington says it is not in coordination with Damascus. Previously that the Syrian army shelled the area near the door in September, saying he succeeded in "liquidation number of terrorists" after a period of start of the air strikes led by the United States. There was no immediate report on the recent raids in the Syrian media. The Syrian Arab News Agency, the United Nations envoy Staffan de Mistura, met with Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem and other government officials in Damascus to discuss his recent tour in the region. She said they also talked about the word de Mistura told the UN Security Council last month, during which he proposed an "action plan" to implement a cease-fire in some areas. It was not possible Spokesmen de Mistura immediately for comment. This is the second visit to Damascus since taking office in July. In his previous visit he met with President Bashar al-Assad. Some Western diplomats worry that the pursuit of de Mistura, a cease-fire in some areas can involve many problems if not carried out with extreme caution. They say pro-government forces took advantage of agreements of this kind in the past to force under the control of the opposition to surrender areas and arrested the men. The de Mistura said in a speech to the United Nations in northern city of Aleppo, Syria as a candidate to be clear of the cease-fire zones which gradually stop the fighting in the region and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid. Since the beginning of the coalition that the US-led strikes on Syria for more than a month of the Syrian army has stepped up air raids, particularly in the west of the country. In some cases, targeting areas controlled by opposition fighters, backed by the West. Air strikes by US-led mainly focused on the north and east of Syria, where the state-controlled Islamic and other groups on adjacent land to Turkey and Iraq. The Observatory said on Sunday that the organization called the Islamic State of dozens of guerrillas in the northeast of the province of Aleppo to go west toward the town of Kobani or Arabs appointed predominantly Kurdish near the Turkish border. The organization is fighting Kurdish forces in and around Kobanî since more than a month in the battle caused the displacement of tens of thousands and led to the accession of the Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga forces to the conflict.
